Season 2025/26 Review ✅
As another fantastic season comes to an end, we look back with pride at everything achieved across our wonderful football club, both on and off the pitch.
Junior Section
U7s
An excellent debut season for our youngest team. They improved tremendously throughout the year and were rewarded with a cup victory at the end of the season.
U8s
This team went from strength to strength and is developing into a top side, playing exciting and eye-catching football throughout the campaign.
U9s
A season of great progress, playing fantastic attacking football. Their efforts were rewarded with both a League Cup and Champions Cup victory at our tournament.
U10s
An incredible achievement as they made it four League Cups in four seasons. They continue to establish themselves as one of the top sides in Stockport.
U11s
League Cup finalists and winners of the Adswood United Tournament, capping off another excellent season of development and success.
U12s
Simply an outstanding season. League and Cup double winners, with no team able to get close to them throughout the campaign.
U13s
After a strong start and an even stronger finish, they ended the season by winning the Adswood United Tournament.
U14s
A challenging season through no fault of their own, competing against teams a year older. Their determination was rewarded with victory in the Adswood United Tournament.
U15s
Another impressive season, winning EMJFL Division One, reaching the cup final, and making it to the County Cup semi-final.
U17s
An invincible league campaign saw them storm to the EMJFL Division One title without losing a single game. They also reached the Challenge Cup Final.
Men's Football
Reserve Team
A group that improved week after week, showing tremendous belief, character, and development as the season progressed.
First Team
A strong third-place finish while competing on all fronts and challenging every team in the league.
A special mention must also go to both men's teams for continuing our club pathway. Over 10 youth players made their senior debuts this season after progressing through our junior section.
Off the Pitch
This season we have continued to make a positive impact both within the club and across the local community by:
- Hosting another fantastic presentation evening at Stockport County Football Club.
- Celebrating our 60th anniversary in March with a truly special evening, bringing together people from Adswood United's past and present, alongside many respected figures from the wider grassroots football community. It was a fitting celebration of the club's history, achievements and the people who have helped shape it over the last six decades.
- Creating a pop-up Santa's Grotto for the local community at Christmas.
- Organising Christmas parties for all our teams to boost morale and spread festive cheer.
- Funding coaching and refereeing qualifications for some of our young players.
- Continuing to develop plans that will help us one day gain full control of Bakery Bridge.
- Building new partnerships with community groups and the Probation Service to support the wider community.
- Strengthening relationships with local businesses, especially Cheadle Skip Hire, who continue to be our valued main club sponsor.
What's Next?
Planning for the 2026/27 season is already well underway.
Our aims include:
- Introducing at least two new teams, including a new Under-7s side.
- Continuing to grow our Soccer School.
- Launching a Veterans Over-35s team.
- Supporting the ongoing development of all our existing teams.
- Continuing to work with the local council towards securing control of Bakery Bridge.
- Providing affordable, value-for-money football for families across the Stockport area.
- Expanding our annual football tournament while ensuring it remains inclusive and suitable for players of all abilities.
- Building even stronger links with local community groups.
- Attracting new sponsorship opportunities from local businesses.
Behind the scenes, a huge amount of work is already taking place to make the 2026/27 season even bigger and better.
Finally, we would like to thank all of our players, parents, supporters, coaches and committee volunteers. Without your dedication, commitment and support, none of this would be possible.
Thank you for being part of our journey. Together we continue to grow, develop and strengthen Adswood United both on and off the pitch, and we look forward to seeing what we can achieve together next season.
